A look of chronic foot pain in children

Foot pain is often a problem with children as they continue to grow, and can be caused by a myriad of problems. Since children are growing on a regular basis, growing pains are often the culprit, but you shouldn’t
automatically assume that this is the case. Examine your child’s lifestyle. Is he or she active? What kind of shoes does your child wear? How often and during what times of day do the feet hurt? If your child is suffering from chronic foot pain, a visit to the pediatrician is in order, but here are a few ways to treat temporary foot pain in children.

Proper footwear is one way to avoid chronic foot pain. Shoes that do not fit properly can aggravate an existing condition or cause bunions, corns or misalignments of the toes. Ingrown toenails are another cause of chronic foot pain. This occurs when the edges of the nail grow through the skin. This is very painful and may require medical attention because ingrown toenails often become infected.

Tips & Warnings
*Make sure your child isn’t wearing negative-heel shoes, where the heel is lower than the forefoot.
* “Growing pains” are symptoms of problems that can become irreversible in adulthood if they’re not corrected when the child is young. If the pains don’t go away within a few weeks, take your child to a physician.
*If you have specific medical conditions or concerns, we recommend you contact a physician. This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.

    Hi Admin,
Thanks you for your post, Most back pain comes from weak muscles, so reconditioning it by stretching for flexibility and strengthening the muscles helps most every back problem. A strengthening program needs to work on the muscles that pull your back forward and down (flexion), as well as the muscles that lift your body up (extension). You have to have strong, flexible muscles around your abdomen and lower back to prevent injury and stabilize your spine. You can do all of these back strengthening exercises at home.
