Should it be illegal to smoke in your own car?

How would you feel if the government told you that you couldn’t smoke in your own car?

Perhaps you’d endorse the idea that public health officials were trying to make it harder for people to maintain a habit that increases their risk of developing lung cancer, emphysema, heart disease and a host of other problems. Maybe you’d rejoice that you’d never again be forced to carpool to a meeting with a chain-smoking colleague. You might even breathe a sigh of relief for all the children of smokers who would be able to ride to school, soccer practice and piano lessons without being forced to inhale clouds of secondhand smoke.

UK doctors call for ban on smoking in cars.
The British Medical Association is calling on the government to ban smoking at all times in cars, a step that would go beyond regulations elsewhere.

The group that represents U.K. doctors said the confined environment in cars exposes drivers and passengers to 23 times more toxins than a smoky bar.

Other opinion: Banning smoking in cars is poisonous to a free society.

Where and How to Watch NASA’s Final Space Shuttle Launch

NASA‘s last space shuttle launch in history is set to blast off from Florida on July 8 2011.

Location: If you don’t want to shell out that kind of money, there’s good news. Great viewing spots abound on Florida’s Space Coast, and they’re free.

The city of Titusville, just 12 miles across the Indian River from Kennedy Space Center, is a premiere spot. It affords great views from numerous parks along the water, including Space View Park and Parrish Park (on the causeway between Titusville and the spaceport).

The town of Port Canaveral, a popular harbor for cruise ships, is also a good choice, affording largely unobstructed views.

Another good option for shuttle viewing is a spot along the coast in the nearby city of Cocoa Beach.

A total lunar eclipse took place on June 15, 2011. It was the first of two such eclipses in 2011. The second will occur on December 10, 2011.

Anatomy of a Lunar Ecllpse

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind the earth so that the earth blocks the sun’s rays from striking the moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle.

A total lunar eclipse will be visible in areas such as Europe, Africa, southern Asia and Australia on June 15, 2011. This will be one of the darkest eclipses this century, and for 100 minutes the Moon will appear as a dark red orb in the sky.

The eclipse was visible rising over South America, western Africa, and Europe, and setting over eastern Asia. In western Asia, Australia and the Philippines, the lunar eclipse was visible just before sunrise.

Trouble about Google’s gmail and Android

After Google had fixed Android flaw that could have leaked personal data from millions of phones, Google said in a blog post on Wednesday that Hackers launched a phishing campaign that obtained access to the personal Gmail accounts of hundreds of people, including U.S. government officials.

Google mentioned the breech was not the end result of inner program failures or perhaps a safety problem.

Google detailed various actions web customers can carry to far better shield their individual information. among the them was changing to Chrome, Google’s personal internet browser.

PlayStation Network is FINALLY staggering back online after security breach brought it down for almost a month.

“We know even the most loyal customers have been frustrated by this process and are anxious to use their Sony products and services again,” Kazuo Hirai, head of Sony’s game division, said in a written statement Saturday. “We are taking aggressive action at all levels to address the concerns that were raised by this incident and are making consumer data protection a full-time, companywide commitment.”

John James Audubon (April 26, 1785 – January 27, 1851) was a French-American ornithologist, naturalist, hunter, and painter. He painted, catalogued, and described the birds of North America in a manner far superior to what had gone before. Born in the French colony of Saint Domingue (now Haiti) and raised in France as a youth, in his embrace of America and his outsize personality and achievements, he represented the new American people of the United States.

His far reaching influence on ornithology and natural history extended to being quoted by Charles Darwin in ‘On the Origin of Species’ while Audubon’s field notes are regarded as having made a significant contribution to the understanding of bird anatomy and behavior.

As recently as December, 2010, a copy of Audubon’s ‘Birds of America’ was sold at a Sotheby’s auction for £7,321,250, a record price for a single printed book.
