A natural eczema treatment is to supplement your body with nutrient rich foods. Between improving your diet by eating more fresh organically grown fruits and vegetables and the supplements I will discuss in these pages, you have an unbeatable diet and supplement program to help treat your eczema and bring back the kind of beautiful, soft skin that you have always dreamed of. I did it and you can do it too.
According to the National Library of Medicine and the Mayo Clinic, natural treatments for children’s eczema include careful hygiene and the use of certain ingredients on the skin.
Bathing
Children with eczema may benefit from a brief daily bath in warm water with a minimal amount of soap. This can reduce the loss of moisture in the skin that results in itching and irritations.
Pastes
You can prepare a paste of finely ground oatmeal or baking soda mixed with water and apply it to the area of your child’s skin affected by eczema to reduce itching, swelling and redness.
Oils
Using natural oils found in your kitchen, such as olive oil or tea tree oil, as a skin moisturizer for your child can help soothe dry and itchy skin, especially when applied after a bath.
Ointments
Ointments such as aloe vera extract or a rinse with lukewarm chamomile tea can be applied to your child’s skin to soothe itching and irritations caused by eczema.
Cotton
Dressing your child in cotton clothing rather than synthetic fibers or allergens such as wool can help draw sweat away from the skin and reduces skin irritations, especially in hot or humid weather.
Nutrition
Breastfeeding your infant or toddler can reduce the symptoms of eczema, and pumped breast milk can be applied directly to the skin to reduce itching and swelling; avoiding foods such as dairy and soy may also reduce itching and irritations caused by eczema.
Nutritional Medicine
The Nutritional Medicine approach includes principles that are of great benefit to the treatment of eczema. These principles support the following:
better digestion and assimilation of foods through the use of probiotics and enzymes;
better nutrition through nutrient rich food supplements and;
increased protection against free radical damage (oxidative stress) through whole food antioxidants.
Does anyone know a lotion for Exzma?
Aveeno works well for me. Also you should make sure you drink plenty of water. The more hydrated you are the less dry your skin will be. And try not to take hot showers as hot water tends to dry your skin out more. Don’t waste you time with prescription hydrocortizone because it won’t work. You may find that your skin will be more irritated in the fall and winter months since the air is more dry during that time, so make sure you have a humidifier in your home.
One more thing, Aveeno has a baby lotion that it specifically for Exzema. It is a God send!
What You Need to Know About Baby Eczema Treatment to Cure Your Baby in Less Than a Week
When it comes to the behavior of your baby’s eczema, there are many things you can do to intervene to treat and prevent it. Here’s what you must do:
At bath time, avoid making the water too hot as this will make things worse. Keep the water luke warm. Bathe baby daily and don’t use any strong soaps, bubble bath or perfumes that could irritate the skin. After the bath, pat the skin dry gently until semi dry. Do not rub vigorously, as this will dry the skin out too much. At once after drying, moisturize all over with moisturizing cream or lotion to “lock in” in water from the bath.
Mosturise often. Dry skin is very prone to eczema, so you need to prevent skin form drying out. Don’t use aromatic harvest with complicated formulas or that control alcohol. Stick to fixed aqueous cream or baby lotion. Moisturise at least twice daily and especially after every bath as described above.
Certain foods can trigger eczema, so pay close attention to what your baby eats and how it reacts to the food. The usual suspects here are dairy harvest, nuts and eggs. When you spot a certain food that triggers your baby’s eczema, eliminate it or at least limit the intake.
Quilt and clothes: Clothing that makes baby sweat and irritate the skin such as synthetic clothing (like polyester) and wool can facilitate eczema. Pure cotton clothing and quilt is the answer to the problem here. It is natural and soft and is not contributing to to making bay sweat too much.
Environmental factors: If you have air conditioning in your house, don’t allow the air to become too dry. Also vacuum your carpets frequently to keep the house free from dust mites, pollen and dust.
Prevent scratching at all cost. This is a touch that can make baby eczema behavior very hard. Eczema is aggravated momentously with scratching. Adults know this and can stop themselves from scratching. Babies scrape on impulse and do not know that this makes matters worse and you are not always around to stop them. As proactive measures you can keep your baby’s nails trimmed and have it sleep with mits to prevent scratching.
Luckily babies ordinarily outgrow their eczema. Some will take up again to suffer from it, but with age also comes the appreciative of eczema that makes conniving it simpler. In severe cases topical creams or ointments with antihistamines or corticosteroids may be indicated, but always consult with your pharmacist or doctor before using them Preventing baby eczema is beyond doubt better than treating it, and implementing the above points will make your life (and your baby’s) much simpler.

It’s very important to keep your body moisturised especailly when you have eczema. I always believe that the best way to treat eczema is to use a natural source such as aloe vera that is kind to the skin and helps relieve inflamation and itchyness.
This is a very important topic and eczema is a nightmare for some parents to deal with. There are so many creams out there that don’t work it can end up costing parents a fortune.
